In a class you will build a stable foundation and gradually move towards more demanding work.  Iyengar developed the use of props such as blankets, belts, blocks and chairs to help students understand a pose and it’s benefits. Ultimately as your practice deepens you will learn different types of asana including standing, seated, forward bends, backward bends, inversions, and twists. All Iyengar yoga teachers undergo a rigorous teaching program which lasts for many years so you can rest assured your teacher has many years of experience.
